Occasions

Every reason to make a scene.

Pick one and the board writes itself. You can change every word, and we check it the way billboard operators do.

How it works

Write it. Split it. Drive past it.

01

Write the board

Start from a template or write your own two lines. Every word is checked against operator rules as you type, so nothing gets bounced.

02

Friends chip in

Send one link. Friends save a card for $5 or more and are charged only when you book. You cover whatever’s left, or nothing at all.

03

We book it. You film it.

We clear the copy and book a board for the day you picked. You get the exact location ahead of time and a photo once it’s up.

Pricing

One board. Twelve friends. $25 each.

The price covers the board, the copy review and the booking. Friends chip in any amount, and you only pay what’s left when you book.

The Double Feature

The song on the radio. The name on the billboard.

Friends write a song together for the same person and you get $25 off the board, or $10 off the song if you start with the billboard. Play it on the drive past.

Questions

The fine print, in plain English.

Is it a real billboard?
Yes. A digital or static board in or near your city, booked with an independent operator. Digital boards rotate your ad with others, about 8 seconds per play, all day. Highway Boards face interstate traffic.
How far ahead do I need to book?
At least 7 days before the day you want it up. That gives us time to clear the copy with the operator and lock the board. Chip-ins close 3 days before.
When do friends get charged?
Friends save a card when they chip in. Cards are charged only when you book the board, and you cover whatever’s left. If the chip-in deadline passes without the board being covered or booked, every card is released and nobody pays.
What can it say?
Their first name and up to two short lines, about 7 words reads best at highway speed. No last names, phone numbers, web addresses, profanity or claims about someone’s real life. Operators review every ad and we only send copy that passes.
Do they have to agree?
You confirm they’ll be glad to see their first name on a billboard before you start. For roasts, keep it to something they’d laugh at. For Loserboard, every manager signs a contract first.
What if the operator rejects it?
We suggest an edit, book another board, or refund the board in full.

    The Shame Contract

    Consent, signed in August.

    Nobody goes up without signing

Every signature is timestamped and chained to the one before it, so nobody can claim they never agreed.

    A real photo release

Billboard operators need written permission to show a person. The contract gives it, for this board and the Hall of Shame only.

Roast the season, not the person

Copy comes from our templates or passes review. No claims about jobs, families or anything outside the league.

    Try it

Write the roast. We keep it board-safe.

Operators turn down ads with profanity, phone numbers or real-life accusations. Every line here is checked against those rules as you type.

      Questions

The fine print, in plain English.

      Is this actually allowed?
Yes, with consent. Billboard operators require a signed release before they show a person, and they review every ad. The Shame Contract is that release, and we only run copy that roasts the fantasy season.
      What if the loser refuses?
Anyone can withdraw until the commissioner locks the contract. After that, the deal is the deal. If the loser skips the photo, the board runs text only.
      Which billboard do we get?
A digital or static board in or near the city on your contract. Before it goes up you get the exact location and dates, and after it goes up you get a photo. Charlotte is booking now. For other cities, start a contract and we’ll confirm a board before your copy goes to review.
What if the operator rejects our ad?
We book another board or refund the board fee. It’s section 8 of the contract.
Does it work with our fantasy platform?
Yes. ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper, NFL Fantasy, CBS or anything else. The contract names your platform, and the commissioner names the loser from its final regular-season standings.
How does a Troll Fund charge people?
When you pledge, you save a card with Stripe. If the fund hits its goal by the deadline, every saved card is charged its pledge. If it doesn’t, nothing is charged and the cards are released.
      Can we use team logos?
No. Team names, logos and marks belong to the teams. Troll Fund boards use your city, your colors and your words.

      Somebody’s finishing last.

Make sure everyone gets to see it.
